Ridge Kids Large Group Preschool Coordinator

Part time:  20 hours

Chestnut Ridge Church is seeking a Ridge Kids Large Group Coordinator to help kids know that God loves them, God made them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever through the use of music and storytelling. The coordinator will be responsible for obtaining childcare workers for adult ministry events and help carryout other responsibilities that encourages the success of the Ridge Kids team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as an ambassador for The Ridge by positively reflecting the vision, mission, strategy and values to those inside and outside our walls.
  • Assess and advise attenders and volunteers as to how and where they can take their next steps towards God and within the ministry.
  • Work with Ridge Kids Ministry team to ensure coordination and alignment of overall Ridge Kids experience between Small Groups and Large Group.
  • Supervise and oversee staffing for all Ridge Kids Large Group sessions.
  • Download, preview, edit and disseminate monthly scripts and songs, including updating the website with needed materials.
  • Oversee preparation of all items needed for Ridge Kids Large Group sessions; includes presentation, stage design and all necessary props, etc.
  • Prepare weekly schedule for storytellers, hosts, worship leaders, and media operators. 
  • Be available as needed to fill in open scheduling positions
  • Maintain the organization of Large Group props and environment supplies.
  • Effectively communicate with volunteer staff regarding scheduling needs and changes
  • Monitor and purchase of necessary supplies and equipment from approved budget
  • Room preparation for Ridge Kids Large Group sessions
  • Oversee recruitment of new volunteers
  • Responsible for application and background check information for those that are actively serving

  • Continue to look for ways to enhance the Ridge Kids environment in conjunction with the strategy of CRC
  • Assist in planning volunteer recognitions with the other Ridge Kids Ministry directors.
  • Assist the Ridge Kids Ministry Director in vision casting, promoting, and providing training
  • to volunteers
  • Serve as a liaison to our adult ministries groups and events with their childcare needs
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by the Ridge Kids Ministry Director

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience with stage productions.
  • Active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude, speech and behavior.
  • Agreement with The Ridge’s approach, beliefs and values.
  • Team player who is able to work well with other team members, departments and with the structure of the organization.
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and computer skills.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Physical Demands and Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
