Chestnut Ridge Church Summer Internship Descriptions 2019

Chestnut Ridge Church is a modern and growing church seeking multiple full-time Summer Interns. You will join with a dynamic staff team in a grace-filled environment taking cues from North Point Ministries, and "Simple Church". Located in the educational, commercial, medical and cultural hub of north-central West Virginia. Located just over an hour south of Pittsburgh and four hours west of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area, Morgantown, West Virginia, offers its residents access to rivers, mountains, lakes, hiking trails, bike paths, and  golf courses. Home of the Division I, Big 12 West Virginia University Mountaineers, Morgantown’s way of life is more than that of a idyllic college town; it’s a place with a strong economy, a flourishing culture and a quality way of life.

 

Students/Worship 

In this worship and student ministry internship, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience while working alongside the programming and student ministry teams.  You will be engaged and mentored while helping plan and implement weekly programming and special events. This paid position will be 11 weeks in length and will provide you a practical understanding of the work that goes into programming for both student and adult environments.

 

Individuals will:

  • Lead worship vocally and instrumentally in student and possibly adult environments.

  • Lead in daily logistics of Student Ministry

  • Lead student ministry events as assigned by director

  • Relationally connect with students

  • Shadow and assist Programming team in the development and execution of main service.

  • Gain experience in student ministry programming.

  • Assist in the facilitation of student ministry events.  

  • Connect with a dynamic team of small group leaders and students on a weekly basis.

  • Set up and tear down for events as needed.

  • Help lead in Deviate (MS) and Wired (HS) weekly

  • Assist with Camp Summer Ridge 
  • Weekly expectations will be in office Monday through Thursday, and present for Sunday morning services.

  • Other duties as needed
     

Students

In this student ministry internship, you will gain experience and valuable knowledge in the logistics, preparation, programming, and structure that goes into our summer events. Also, you will gain experience in ministering to and connecting with Middle and High School students.  Here at The Ridge, you will have the opportunity to get an inside look at a Orange thinking family ministry team and learn how we utilize small groups throughout our ministries.

 
  • Assist in programming of student ministry events

  • Assist in daily logistics of Student Ministry

  • Lead student ministry events as assigned 

  • Relationally connect with students

  • Set up and tear down for events as needed.

  • Help lead in Deviate (MS) and Wired (HS) weekly

  • Assist with Camp Summer Ridge
  • Weekly expectations will be in office Monday through Thursday, and present for Sunday morning services.

  • Assist in helping with Kid’s ministry on Sunday Mornings as needed.

  • Other duties as needed


Kids 

In this kids ministry internship, you will gain experience and valuable knowledge in the logistics, preparation, programming, and structure that goes into our weekly programing. You will have the opportunity to get an inside look at a Orange thinking family ministry team and learn how we utilize small groups throughout our ministries.

 
  • See and experience the lead small model in action.

  • Learn to create safe and engaging environments for both preschool and elementary aged kids.

  • Grow in creatively sharing God’s truth with kids on a weekly basis.

  • Weekly expectations will be in office Monday through Thursday, and present for Sunday morning services.

  • Assist in day to day preparation for Birth - 5th grade ministry.

  • Other duties as assigned.
