Chestnut Ridge Church (www.chestnutridgechurch.com) is seeking a part-time Community Life Assistant to provide administrative and systems support to the community life ministry team that effectively helps people more fully engage in growing with God and others at The Ridge.
We are located in the educational, commercial, medical and cultural hub of north-central West Virginia. Home of the Division I, Big 12 West Virginia University Mountaineers, Morgantown is recognized as one of the best small cities in which to live, work and raise a family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an ambassador for The Ridge by positively reflecting the vision, mission, strategy and values to those inside and outside our walls
- Actively engage in the life of The Ridge by gathering, connecting, serving, giving and inviting.
- Assess and advise attendees and volunteers as to how and where they can take their next steps towards God and within the church.
- Work with the Community Life team and the Programming team to communicate all needs.
- Update church calendar and book all rooms and needs for all Community Life meetings and events.
- Coordinate and execute background checks for all necessary Community Life Volunteers
- Maintain databases and registrations for communities, groups, and trips.
- Support the communication efforts of the Community Life Team.
- Assist with administrative tasks for groups, events, and more.
- Coordinate supplies, set up, clean up, decorations, and childcare of short term groups and classes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude, speech and behavior.
- Agreement with The Ridge’s approach, beliefs and values.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience
- Superior organizational, planning and computer skills.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Team player who is able to work well with other team members, departments and with the structure of the organization.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
