Special Needs Room Leader (approx. 5 hours on Sunday – 8:00am to 12:30pm)

Reports to:  Special Needs Coordinator
Hourly Rate: $13.00/hr. 
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

The Special Needs Room Leader will have a specialized role that will allow a person to use their gifts to lead a room of children while developing volunteers and growing our team. This person will only be present on Sundays for both services and be assigned primarily to the Sensory room, where we provide curriculum and fellowship for special needs children ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Assignments at each service may vary based on the needs and ages of the special needs children in attendance. 

All curriculum materials will be prepped for each room upon your arrival.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Oversees a nursery, preschool, or elementary aged child with special needs
• Equip and help train volunteers to assist
• Help recruit volunteers
• Occasionally lead huddles 
• Build personal relationships with the children and families who are a part of your room (i.e. learning and remembering names, praying for specific things when asked, etc).
• Be available to work most Sundays

• Act as an ambassador for The Ridge by positively reflecting the vision, mission, strategy and values to those inside and outside our walls.
• Be able to assess and advise attendees and volunteers as to how and where they can take their next steps towards God and within the ministry.
• Attend training events or other meetings that relate to your role (paid time).
• Actively engage in the life of The Ridge by gathering, connecting, serving, giving and inviting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
