FLSA Status: Part-time 20-25 hours per week     

Reports To: Community Life Pastor

One Line Job Description Summary: To grow the college ministry by building meaningful relationships and creating welcoming environments that lead students into a growing relationship with God and others. 


Summary: The Ridge College Coordinator will lead the college ministry by cultivating meaningful relationships with students and leaders with the aim of leading college students into a growing relationship with God and others. You will create engaging, welcoming environments where students feel a strong sense of belonging—spaces that help them discover the real life that Christ has for them, foster authentic relationships, and empower them to invite their friends to experience the same. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Engage in the Life of The Ridge: Gather, connect, serve, give, and invite others to be part of the Ridge community and its mission.
  • Act as an Ambassador for The Ridge: Positively reflect and promote the vision, mission, strategy, and values of The Ridge to both internal and external audiences.

  • Create and Lead Environments: Develop, plan, and lead environments and events including but not limited to: weekly gatherings (large and small groups), retreats, camps, and service projects that foster students' growth in their relationships with God and others.

  • Do Contact work: Meet students where they are—on campus, at games, and in their daily lives—developing intentional relationships and inviting them into a life with Christ and involvement in Ridge College.

  • Recruit, Train, and Develop Leaders: Identify and develop volunteer leaders who will invest in the lives of students, both inside and outside of regular programming.

  • Collaborate on Ministry Planning: Partner with the Community Life Pastor to create the yearly ministry plan and budget, then steward these resources wisely and effectively.

  • Support High School to College Transition: Work with the High School Director to plan and execute combined events for high school and college students, ensuring smooth transitions between ministries.

  • Develop and Execute Ministry Communication: Collaborate with the programming team to communicate ministry events and updates through email, website, social media, and other platforms.

  • Participate in Staff Development: Engage in staff and leadership development meetings/forums, including weekly staff meetings and doctrinal training times.

  • Hosting / Teaching: As gifted and when developed, potentially speak in other environments such as weekend gatherings or other larger group settings.

  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Qualifications:

  • A growing and active relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced through attitude, behavior, speech, and lifestyle.

  • Agreement with The Ridge’s beliefs, values, and ministry approach.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a ministry-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience working with students in a ministry context (preferred).

  • Proven ability to build teams, lead others, and develop effective systems.

  • A collaborative team player who works well across departments and within the organizational structure.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Highly organized with strong planning and administrative skills; comfortable using common technology and communication tools.

  • Discreet and trustworthy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
